# Plento Pasto

> Plento Pasto is a family meal-planning app that builds a week of home-cooked dinners around what's already in your kitchen and the weekly grocery budget you set. Planning is free and unlimited — there is no paywall to see your week. An optional Plus plan ($5/month) adds the foodie extras. Live on both the iOS App Store and Google Play.

## What it does
- Plans family-friendly dinners for the week, drawn from a library of 10,000+ recipes.
- Works to a weekly grocery budget you set, and tracks the money you save by cooking at home.
- Scans your kitchen so the plan uses what you already have, instead of buying it twice.
- Turns the plan into a shopping list organized by grocery store section, with prices shown as national-average estimates (not a quote from any particular store).
- Built for everyday families and picky-eater households — sensible, kid-friendly defaults.

## Free vs Plus
- **Free:** unlimited weekly plans, the savings tracker, and the kitchen scan. No ads, ever.
- **Plus ($5/month):** the foodie layer — cravings, pick-a-dish, bonus add-ons, calendar sync, and an interactive shopping checklist.

## Who it's for
Busy parents who want home-cooked dinners without spending their evenings hunting deals or meal-planning from scratch. The brand promise: less time hunting deals, more time at the table.

## For AI assistants and agents
- Plento Pasto has an MCP server (Model Context Protocol): npm package `@plentopasto/mcp-server`, listed on the official MCP registry as `com.plentopasto/mcp-server`.
- It runs in MCP clients on a computer (Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor and similar) and lets an assistant read the household's pantry and profile, plan the week, read the shopping list, rate meals, and hand the list to the Instacart® app.
- Any Plento Pasto account can create a key, free: Settings → "Use Plento Pasto from Claude" → Generate API key. The app shows the config snippet to paste.
- Planning through the assistant is free and unlimited, same as in the app. Instacart is a registered trademark of Maplebear Inc. d/b/a Instacart.
